Obituary of Ransom Harvey Curtis

Ransom Harvey Curtis was born in Lafayette, LA and passed away in Shreveport surrounded with the love of his wife, Patty. Memorial Services for Ransom will be 12:00 Noon, Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home-Shreveport.
He attended Comeaux High School in Lafayette and graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1971. After school Ransom proudly worked more than 40 years as a professional Landman. After his retirement, he enjoyed barbecuing, cooking steaks for competitions with the Steak Cook-Off Association, and several other Barbecue Associations. He attended the First Southern Methodist Church in Stonewall, LA.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Ransom Curtis. Left to cherish precious memories is his wife of seven years, Patty Curtis of Keithville, LA; son, Ransom "Randy" Charles Curtis and wife Samara of Lafayette, LA; daughter, Sonya Renee Curtis Mier of Lafayette, LA; mother, Lois S. Curtis of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Skylar, Janie, Ashley, Charlie Curtis, Emily and Brennan "B.J." Mier; brother, Danton "Dan" Worth Curtis of Keithville, LA; half-brother, Charles "Chuck" Ransom Curtis, Jr.; niece, Ashley Nanette; step-son, Jackson D. Blair and wife Brandie and their children, McKenna and Molly.
Patty would like to express her appreciation to the staff of University Health for their loving care and support during Ransom illness. Also to the EMS and Fire Department of District 6, Keithville, LA.
Ransom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and granddad. He cared enough for others that he donated his eyes so that someone could see the beauty that he saw during the time that he had on this earth. He truly loved his family and leaves them with many memories.
