Obituary of Mary Allene Boykin Haughee

Mrs. Haughee was born in South Carolina on January 22, 1932 and died on January 9, 2014. She graduated from Winyah High School, Georgetown, SC in 1949. She earned her B.A. in Spanish at UCLA and her MEd at LSU-S. She retired from teaching in Caddo Parish in 1995. Mrs. Haughee was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee and Bernice Henrietta Boykin; her sister, Dorothy Brackman and husband William; three brothers, Jesse Boykin, Jr. and wife Bernice, James Boykin, and Francis Boykin; and by her son, Michael Grant Haughee. She is survived by her husband, David Allen Haughee; two daughters, Dr. Sharon Marie Williams of Cairo, Egypt, and Suzanne Mercedes McGraw of Texarkana, TX; one son, David Allen Haughee, Jr. of Leslie, AR; five grandchildren, Matthew and Aaron Haughee, Rose of Sharon and Maya Williams, and Olivia McGraw; one sister, Bernice Nagle and husband Richard of Mineral, VA; and sister-in-law, Doris Boykin of Chester, VA; and beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Haughee at First Wesleyan Church, Bossier City, on January 22, 2014 at 6 p.m., Pastor Paul Gorsline officiating. Mrs. Haughee will be interred in Bay Pines National Cemetery, FL. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Salvation Army or the Shreveport-Bossier Mission.
