Memorial services celebrating the life of Robert Harold Dykes, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Harvest Fellowship (4601 Airline Dr) of Bossier City with Pastor Richard Watson & Pastor Doyce Smith officiating.
Robert was born March 18, 1952, in Shreveport, LA to Ethel Lucille Morris Dykes and James Robert Dykes and passed away November 29, 2018, in Bossier City, LA after a lengthy illness . He retired from Gannett Co., formerly Newspaper Production Company, after 41 years as Mailroom & Building Maintanance Superintendent. He was an active member of Harvest Fellowship Church where he served along side his wife Leslie, as Greeter. Robert was a Mason and a lifetime member of the Blanchard Masonic Lodge serving as various officers and teacher. He was also a member of 4X4 Roughriders Club for many years. He loved family hunting and camping trips to the woods and lake water skiing. Anything and everything he did was over the top!
Robert was preceded in death by his father, James R. Dykes, and his sister, Kathy Sue Dykes Weaver. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Leslie Martin Dykes; his loving mother, Ethel Lucille Morris Dykes; brother, Donald R. Dykes and wife Kathy; son, Robert (Robby) H. Dykes, Jr. and wife Stephanie; and daughter, Crystal Deanne Dykes Hemphill and husband Steve; grandchildren, Samantha, Wesley, Hayden, Shelby, Riley, Addyson, Matthew and Adam; great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Amslee; and numerous nieces and nephews that loved him.
