Doyline, LA- James Wilson, age 71, passed away July 22, 2008 in Shreveport, LA. He was born May 16, 1937 in Magnolia, AR to T.A. and Lurline Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was a retired Sgt. for the Shreveport Police Department, and remained active in his community; he was a member of the American Legion Post 388, the Elks Lodge BPO 122, and the El Karubian Shrine Temple. He was a kind hearted, generous man, who lived his life to the fullest! James was dedicated to his soul mate Nancy Wilson, and they loved to spend their spare time together with friends listening to country music and dancing. They always looked forward to their annual trip to Mammou, LA. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, and his father. Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Jimmy Wilson and wife Cindy, Bradley Wilson and wife Angela, daughters: Connie Wilson, Anita Britt and husband Michael, Kellie Wilson, step-sons: Jim Wilson and wife Theresa, David Wilson, his mother, grandchildren: Crystal Prudhomme and husband David, Mick Britt, William Britt, Alyssa, Joni, Katie, and Destiny Wilson, Kaylee and Jared Nix, great grandchildren: Courtney and Kaylin Thompson, brothers: Larry Wilson, Bob Wilson and wife Jan, as well as a host of friends.
A private memorial service will be held at the American Legion Post in Koran, Sunday, July 27, 2008, at 3:00 pm.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
