Obituary of James Edward Howard

Services for James Edward Howard will be at 12:00 pm on Monday July 13th at Boone Funeral Home In Bossier City, Louisiana, Visitation will be from 10 to 12. Graveside service and Burial will be at 2:00 pm at NWLA Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana.

Jim, as he loved to be called, was a proud Retiree of the US Air Force, Serving his country for 23 years. He also worked for the US Postal Service for many years , until he was forced to retire due to  health. He was an accomplished gardener and loved to compete in Chili Cook- offs . His biggest passion was his Music. He  played and sang most of his life, starting early , in the family band. His love and dedication to his family was well known by all who knew him.He loved to watch his grandchildren and  great - grandchildren play sports and dance.  He was the  Loudest cheerleader in the stands.  He never met a stranger and was always doing "something to help someone ". He truly lived the statement " See a need - meet a need. " 

Jim was preceeded in death by his Parents, Oliver and Rose Howard, sister Jewell Graves, sister Mary Graves,brother Oliver Milton Howard, brother Melvin ,Howard, brother Perry Howard, brother Walter Howard,, brother Allen Howard, sister Alta Howard, sister Vernell Arnold, brother Oliver Howard Jr and brother John Wesley Howard, and his wife, Elenor Dale Howard.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Coyote and husband Lorenzo, Step-son Robert F Coleman, step-daughter Bronda Moore and husband Mel. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory are 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St.Jude , the American heart Association or the the charity of your choices.
