Alexandria, La.71301 August 17, 2005 8:16 PM My Dad was the best Dad ever. I can truly look back on my childhood and say I had the best. My Dad made sure I got to see Santa Claus when we lived in the Sherwood House in Monroe. The Easter Bunny always visited our house, whether it was Monroe or on the bayou. He was the best Dad ever! Monroe, LA August 19, 2005 4:27 PM I worked with Paul at ULM from the time I started here in 1987. I don't think I will be able to come to the viewing on Saturday because of things going on at the University, but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed knowing him. He was always cheerful and energetic, plus he had the ability to make you feel like an old friend even if you just met him. I loved hearing him tell stories about his life and his travels. You could tell that he loved seeing new places. I will also never forget a party at his and Polly's house during which he showed me some letters he had written home during WWII. I was amazed at the sketches included in them! They were incredible. I want you to know that I am saddened by his passing and will pray for his family during this time of sorrow.

Monroe, LA August 19, 2005 5:40 PM Mr. Rawson taught my mother, Merle Eaves Graves Geography in the 70's then myself in the 80's. We both enjoyed his classes. My mother reccomended him because he was at Southeast Misssouri State where she began her collegite studies before transfering to NLU and she had enjoyed his colorful lectures so much. I enjoyed them a decade later! Our families prayers are with your family.

Bastrop, LA August 23, 2005 10:20 PM It was an honor knowing Mr. Paul. He took us in just like a family. He filled a void of a grandfather to me.He touched us. I just can't say enough good. With my children Chris and Erica, he took time to take them to the flower garden. I never knew much about flowers and gardening. I have some of his daylilies in my front yard. I'm glad I've got them there and now I'll think of him when I see them. I'm real sentimental. :) Rose
