Funeral Services for Mrs. Lila Ruth Jones will be held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 10:00am at Boone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sonny DePrang and Bro. Michael Prescott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Born in Denton, TX, Mrs. Jones passed from this life Sunday at the age of 81. She loved gardening, bird watching and enjoyed spending time with her family except when Wheel of Fortune was on.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Emmett Jones, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Jones of Rocky Mount and Sandy Jones of Benton; grandchildren, Adon Jones and wife Christy, Nathan, John and Amy Cobb, and Jason Jones; great-grandchildren, Kade and Hannah Cobb; sister, Frances Holmes; brother, Tommy Scarborough and wife Annette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Colonial Oaks Nursing Home and SouthernCare Hospice for their wonderful care, and also Dr. John Chandler and his staff. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to LA Baptist Children's Home.
