Obituary of Thomas Jefferson Smith

Thomas J. Smith was born August 14, 1925 in Colfax, LA, to Thomas J. Smith, Sr. and Clara pierce. He had a smile and wink for everyone he met and he would tell you a story. He served in WW II, the Korean War and retired from the U.S. Army after serving twenty years . He worked for and retired from the US Postal Service. He went to be with his Lord on May 1, 2013 Thomas was preceded in death by his father, mother, five brothers and three sisters. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Anita H. Smith; daughter, Michaela L. Wilfong and husband Dean; daughter Anni M. Smith; son, Thomas W. Smith and wife Carol; sisters, Bessie M. Skeeles of Farmerville, LA and Barbara A. Wells and husband Bill of Ball, LA; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, 6286 Highway 8, Bentley, LA at 11 a.m. Saturday. His family requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to Grace Home in Shreveport, LA.
