Obituary of J Chambers

Funeral services for ?Shorty? Chambers will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009, 10:00 AM at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Officiating will be Bro. Clint Lovell. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 23, 2009 between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care. On March 21, 2009, J T ?Shorty? Chambers left family and friends to reside in glory and light. Born in Arkansas after moving to Shreveport he began his career as a cement mason. A career in which he was well respected regionally for his skills and professionalism by his peers. He was a good and honest man who possessed the art of story telling, and with this art he frequently entertained family and friends. Proceeded in death by his only son Don. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Willie Lee Chambers; loving grandsons, Jason, John, Jacob and daughter-in-law Jill; great-grandson, Blake; adopted in love daughter, Gwen; daughter-in-law Sherry and one sister Bobbie of Dallas, TX. While the family and friends mourn his passing we know our Heavenly Father has joyously welcomed JT home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Shriner?s Hospital in Shreveport, LA.
