Obituary
Obituary of Carl Lee Knotts
Please share a memory of Carl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Those that were close to Carl knew him as "Moose", a nickname given to him in high school that followed him throughout life. You could not ask for a nicer person to have known. Carl was rough around the edges but once he let you into his world, there was nothing he would not have done for you!
If there was one thing that you would think of when you thought of Moose, it would be how much he loved to fish, or better yet, the enjoyment we got out of listening to his fishing stories. Carl loved to make you laugh, and if he could pull a prank on you, it tickled him even more.
More importantly, Carl had faith. He believed in God and tried to live by his beliefs. He loved whole heartedly his two dogs, Doc and Girlfriend. Some things you may not have known about Carl. He would go dancing at the VFW on Friday nights with his aunt and cousins. He played Bean-Bag Baseball and was in the Senior Olympics. He did volunteer work with the church. He was an industrial painter for 30+ years.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother and father, Christine Tyler Knotts and Orie Louis Knotts, his life long partner, Betty Knotts, his step-father Troy Driggers, and his oldest brother, Rodney Knotts, niece, Melinda Knotts.
Carl leaves behind 8 brothers and 2 sisters: Randell Knotts & wife Faye, Larry Knotts & wife Connie, Maxie Knotts & wife Mickey, Miron Knotts & wife Glenda, Mark Knotts, Lisa Gentry, Rickey Knotts, Wanda Mauldin & husband Bruce, William Knotts & wife Sue, Tommy Knotts; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Carl wanted everyone to remember the good times: The Christmas' (which he loved the most), the fishing trips, family reunions, the Friday nights, but most importantly the love we all have for one another.
Carl is home with many loved ones sitting on the bank of the most beautiful lake fishing! So the next time you see that ripple in the water, think of Moose.
