Obituary of Richard Glen Almond
Richard Glen Almond departed this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Glen was born in Shreveport, LA, in April 10, 1975. After graduating from high school, Glen enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was sent to Millington TN, for training where he met the love of his life, Sharon. After a short 3 ½ years in the Marines, Glen was honorably discharged due to injury. Upon discharge from the Marines, Glen successfully owned and operated Pro Tech Automotive in Tennessee. The family moved to Louisiana in 2005 where Glen returned to school and received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice.
Glen enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. Drag racing, fishing, and watching his boys wrestle were just a few of his favorite pastimes.
Glen is survived by his wife of 23 ½ years, Sharon; their three sons Tyler (wife Kylie), Tucker, and Tanner; parents Richard and Bobbie Almond; brother Robert Almond (wife Mary); nephew Riley; father-in-law William Lurker (wife Alice); mother-in-law Suzanne Lurker; brothers-in-law Chris Lurker (wife Robin) and Matt Lurker (wife Jenny); and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 5:30pm with funeral services following at 6:30pm at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier City Chapel. Interment will follow during a private ceremony at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
