Funeral services for Rick Young will be 10:00 AM, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home-Shreveport. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery West. The family will receive friends between 2:00 - 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
Rick, a proud U.S. Army Veteran, was the owner of R&J Distributing, LLC for 37 years. He was well known for the loving hugs he gave to family, friends, and beloved customers. He was often found asleep in his office chair with peanut butter crackers in his hand.
To cherish his memory is the love of his life and wife of 60 years, Jerry Young; children, Ricardo C. Young, Jr., Michael James Young and wife Kerri, April Leann Holleman; grandchildren, Lauren Faith Holleman, and Reagan Leann Young; and siblings, Gordon, Dorothy, and Francis.
Rick touched many lives through his business and made many friends. Everyone will miss his hugs.
