Obituary of Roy Pierce, Jr.
On Sunday June 21st, with his daughter Amanda by his side, God called Roy home after a long battle with sickness.
Roy was a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana for many years but resided In Shreveport at the end stages of his life where he could be taken care of by his two daughters. Roy definitely put up a long and hard fight. He taught us all the meaning of the word STRONG! Roy was known around his native town of Thibodaux as “ The Breeze “! He was such a free spirit. He enjoyed riding around town in his Rodeo visiting with old friends. He always enjoyed kicking back at his mom and dads to watch the Saints or LSU play. Roy also enjoyed good Cajun food and an ice cold Coors Light! He will sadly be missed by his family and friends.
Roy is survived by his two loving parents, Ada & Roy Pierce Sr. Of Thibodaux, his brother Wesley & wife Lisa of Alabama, his sister Debbie & husband Henry of Mississippi, his daughter Candace & fiancé Gavin of Haughton, daughter Amanda & fiancé Roger of Shreveport, his grandchildren Karlee, Carter, & Cross, and also many nieces and nephews.
Roy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bessie Josie Lummus and YC Lummus, his paternal grandparents Ann "MawBelle" Pierce, and Roland Pierce, his granddaughter Harlie Elizabeth Gros, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His daughters would like to extend a special thank you to all of his wonderful nurses that provided amazing care to their dad!
Boone Funeral Home of Shreveport is in charge of arrangements and his Memorial Service will be at a later date.
