Services for Mildred Pierce, 99, of Bossier City, LA will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10 AM at Heritage Baptist Church in Bossier City. Officiating will be her grandson Rev. Jeff Joyner and Rev. David McCormick of Heritage Baptist Church. Visitation will begin Friday January 16, 2015 at 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City. Interment will follow in Weaver Cemetery in Chestnut, LA. Mrs. Pierce was a former resident of Chestnut, LA and was currently residing in Colonial Oaks Guest Care in Bossier City. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Lee and Emma Walker; husband, Lawrence Pierce; 4 siblings Marie, Skete, Buddy, and Kit; two sons-in-law, A.G. Mangham and Lawrence Johnson; and one grandson, Marty Joyner. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Mangham-Birdwell, Liz Johnson, Vicki Joyner and husband, Jim Joyner; sister in law, Edwina Walker; 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Pallbearers will be Terry Mangham, Kenneth Mangham, Michael Johnson, Cody Woodward, Matthew Walker, Sean Joyner, and honorary pallbearer, Keith Johnson. Leading the funeral procession will be her grandson, Lt. Sean Joyner of the LSP. With deepest gratitude to all the staff of Colonial Oaks Guest Care for their unconditional love and support.
