Charles W. Nesbit, Jr, 75, of Shreveport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Services will be held in the Chapel of First Baptist Bossier with visitation Monday, April 4, 2016 at 9:30 and the Funeral at 10:30. Officiating will be Bro. Sonny DePrang from First Baptist Bossier. Burial/Interment will follow at Forest Park East in Shreveport. Boone Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Mr. Nesbit was born in Hodge, La to Charles W. Nesbit, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Nesbit on October 21, 1940. He graduated from Jonesboro Hodge High School in 1958. Charles served a tour with the Louisiana National Guard. He worked for the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant as an SOP writer/director for 30 years. He enjoyed watching westerns and reading, especially his Bible. Mr. Nesbit is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Nesbit, his father, Charles W. Nesbit, Sr., son Tony Lamar Nesbit, and his aunt Aulena Edwards Peevy. He is survived by his wife of forty-seven yrs., Catherine C. Nesbit of Shreveport, son Chris Nesbit and wife Carla of Haughton, daughter Angela Lewis and husband Greg of Bossier City, daughter Amanda Wood and husband A.J. of Haughton, brother Jerry Lane Nesbit and wife Sandra of Jonesboro, La., and eight grandchildren, Meagan, Matthew, and Marshall Nesbit, Emily and Aubrey Wood, Garrett and Grayson Lewis and Erica Nesbit-Hall. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to University Health ER doctors and nurses, Boone Funeral Home of Bossier City, First Baptist Bossier, and the numerous amount of friends with calls and messages throughout this difficult time.
