I met Veronica late in 2013 to early2014 when my aunt was once a resident at Heritage ~Manor. She really engaged herself with me and with the residents around her. She loved her family. She told me of the unfortunate circumstances of her grandfathers passing in March of this year 2014. She spoke of her brother Bobby who happened to be my co-workerat Sears store in Pierre Bossier and told me of her son. I remember seeing her mother visit and the last time I visited her father was gently caring for his beautiful daughter. That was my last visit, probably about 2 months ago. I missed her passing but want to send my prayers to her family. May you write about her when you feel overcome with emtions and keep praying and to her son Martez......just reach out to your cousins and love just as your mom did.

Veronica and I met at BAFB Commissary in the early 90's. We were friends immediately. Her smile radiated any room she was in and her statue demanded attention. She was a woman of God and loved her family very much and spoke of it all the time. She would call me to see how I was doing, even though she was the one that was not feeling well.. She would never ever complain. She would say hey Renee how you doing.. I'm in the hospital again. I would try to encourage her about being strong.. but she would always end up being the one encouraging me. I will never ever forget you Veronica. We will always be sisters. You are the only person that I can think of that I can honestly say was true friend/sister. Thank God for sending you my way to one of his Angels on Earth..
I love you always...

I will never forget the day we met. We were in our way to a Sickle Cell Disease conference in Monroe. We played music, laughed, and had a great time. We even shared a hotel room. We had been friends ever since. I will miss you greatly my friend, my sister.
Love, Dantrell K. Howard

For the brief time, I came to know veronica; I truly fell in love with her beautiful spirit. Inspite of all her difficulties she made time at least twice a week to visit with a friend during his hospital stay. There; we would talk for hours as if we'd known each other for years. Thank you for the time ; however brief it was.
