Obituary of Ellen Maud Floyd

Ellen Maud Blake Floyd, age 88, met her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Ellen was born in Norwich, England on May 28, 1925. Ellen was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joe Edwin Floyd, a Texas-born United States WWII veteran. The couple met during wartime in England and travelled with the United States Air Force until his retirement in 1972. Ellen's passion for Christ was shown in her dedication and commitment to serving others through WMU and through countless visitors that she made welcome in her home. Ellen was active in Gideons International Auxiliary for 25 years. She was an active member of the Alexandria and Bossier City British Wives Club.
Ellen is survived by her 3 daughters Anita Christensen and husband Roy; Vicky Lynch and husband Stuart; and Cindy Hedden and husband David and one brother, Edgar Blake from Wymondham, England. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be held Thursday, October 24th from 5-8 pm Boone's Funeral Home at 2156 Airline Dr., Bossier City, LA. A service will be held at 10:00 am at Bellaire Baptist Church, Bossier City, LA. Graveside service will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Keithville, LA at at 12:30 PM.
Ellen's passion for spreading the gospel can be continued with donations to Gideons International or the Southern Baptist International Mission Board.
