Obituary of Melvin Curtis Humphrey

Melvin passed away after a short illness in Shreveport. He was an avid deer hunter and had a true love for outdoors. He served in the U.S. Air Force and served active duty in Korea.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Humphrey; mother Vada Martin Humphrey; father Joseph Floyd Humphrey; brother Gerald Humphrey and sisters Ruby Tucek, Geneva DeMary, Juanita Dixon, and Geraldine Brinkman; son Gerald Curtis Humphrey. He is survived by 2 daughters Deborah Rhodes and Lisa Downs; sisters Shirley Brown, Faye Herrington, and Carolyn Humphrey; and stepson GW Hall, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier Chapel. Visitation will also be on Saturday from 10:00 -11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Page, Dakotah Durante, Robert Durante, Lynn Allen, Vince Rhodes, and Jeremy Bandy. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Bandy.
