My condolences to the family. I got to know Col D when he was restoring the A coupe. He was on his way to my house the day after he got it on the road. A pickup backed out of a drive way in front of him and tore the right fenders off of the A.I have never seen a man so disapointed in my life. He had spent two years spare time working on the car. He bounced right back and fixed it again. He was a fine man and I was pleased to know him. I was restoring a 29 Coupe at the time and we worked together on some task. We both enjoyed the local Antique Car Club.

Dear Aunt Rosalie and Cousins,Our hearts ache for you. Uncle Wildo was so very special to us. We have fond memories of our visits with him in Rockford and Louisiana. We witnessed first hand the great respect directed towards him when he took us on a tour of Barksdale AFB.Mom was so proud of him and what he had accomplished. Surely, she was there for him, as he left this world and entered heaven. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May our Lord keep you in his gentle care.Love,Jim and MaryAnn Zawlocki

Mrs. Rosalie and family,The years that I worked at the Heart of Bossier were memorable ones, mainly because of "D". He and I became quite good friends during the years that we shared the managment office for the Lehndorff Group. I am sad to see in the paper this morning that D has passed away. He loved his family and he loved his work. He has left a wonderful legacy in his children. I heard many stories of his military years. He served his country with pride and dedication. One thing about D is that you always knew exactly where he stood and he always gave his all to any project. I am pleased to have known him and I extend my sympathy to you Mrs. Rosalie and to the children.Warmest regards,Sally Holley

To Uncle Wildo, Since the last time I seen you which was at Butterworth Air Force Base, Penang, Malaysia when I was on R&R from Vietnam. You were flying missions out of there, we had a short brief time together and thanks to you I got into the Officiers Quarters being only a Buck Sargeant. But the short time, you being in the Air Force and me being in the infantry, it seemed that it was a family reunion between you and I and no wars existed. You went your way and I went mine. In a short period of time we'll all be together. Thank you for the memories. Say "Hello" to everyone up there. Love, JimSee you soon

My family and I are so sorry for your loss. The obituary was so moving. What a great service he did for our country! We never got to meet him, but he sounds like a man of integrity and honor. My brief telephone conversation with him is something I will always cherish. He was open and cordial and truly a gentleman. My family is praying for you, his family, and for him, although we are assured of his present happiness. He is with God; may you all be in peace. Our family sends our love.
