Obituary of Donna Tanner Jenkins

Please share a memory of Donna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Bossier City, LA-  It is with great sadness that the family of Donna Jenkins announce her passing on Monday June 3rd, 2019, when she lost her long time battle with chronic lung disease.

Donna was born September 16, 1952, in Missouri, to Dovie and C.B. Tanner.  Donna was a passionate person who could accomplish anything she set her mind to.  She was a friend of many and a woman of great strength and tenacity, as witnessed during her final days.

Donna touched many lives when she worked as a school secretary.  She achieved her lifelong goal of becoming a nurse at age 50 and enjoyed working in the Emergency Room (E.R.) where she continued to touch many lives of colleagues and patients with whom she met along the way.  She delighted in working as a travel nurse which permitted her to explore many different parts of the country.

Donna will be forever remembered by her husband of 48 years, David Jenkins, and their children Christina Fraley and Denise Kaufholz (spouse Robert), grandchildren David, Ryan, Julia, Evelyn, siblings Jean, Terl, Johnny, Odis, Steve, Brenda, Debbie, Gary, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held in Arkansas with date to be determined; all who knew and loved her are welcome.
