Obituary of Nina Carol Perez

Haughton - Funeral services for Nina Carol Perez will be 2:00 PM , Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Haughton Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Theresa McConnell of Lakeview Methodist Church. They will receive friends two hours prior to service time. Nina passed away on June 13, 2016 surrounded by her family and friends, which she loved dearly. Nina's life was her family. She was known for being a strong woman that loved to cook, garden, read and always had room at her table for anyone that needed a good meal. Her grandchildren knew that something fun was about to happen when they saw her spread the newspaper on the table. Always teaching them how to get dirty and be a kid. "Granny" always had oatmeal cookies for her precious grandchildren and welcomed them with a smile. Nina is survived by the love of her life for 32 years, Jesse Perez; daughter, Nina Campbell and husband Doug; sons, Jeff and James Perez; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Tony Pope and Dwight Pope and wife Dawn; and darling puppies, Gizmo and Dixie. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Tobias, Matthew Campbell, Cecil Guice, Tony Pope, Dwight Pope and James Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Rebel Campbell. The family will like to express their appreciation to the many medical personnel that took care of Nina over the last several weeks. She will be truly missed by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her.
