Services for Mrs. Mary Walker Bass will be held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home, Thursday, July 3, 2008, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Shaun Armstrong officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm at Antioch Cemetery near Dixie Inn, LA. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-6 PM. Mrs. Bass passed away on July 1, 2008, in Bossier City.
She was born on February 14, 1912, in Mt. Lebanon, LA to Rev. Calvin and Mrs. Ella Walker, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Bass was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and also enjoyed sewing when she was able. Her passion was for her Lord and her church, Barksdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Bass was the oldest member of the church and taught the Junior Girls Sunday school class for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Bass; sister Clara Womack; and her brother John Walker.
Surviving her are her two sons and their wives: James and Joy Bass; Don and Mary Bass; brother Benny Walker; grandchildren and their spouses: Tim and Tina Bass, Robin and David Farrar, Melissa and Tony Eastman, Joanna Bass, 8 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and several nephews.

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Barksdale Baptist Church.
