Obituary of Joe Edward Youngblood
Joe Edward Youngblood sadly passed away April 4, 2018. He passed peacefully with family at his side in hospice care.
Joe was born in Shreveport, LA on August 19, 1951. He served an honorable career with the U.S. Army for 22 years. He enjoyed traveling the world and had a great military career. He returned to Louisiana after retiring from the Army. After retiring from the military, he then completed another 20 years reaching a second retirement with the City of Shreveport as a computer engineer.
Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA is handling arrangements where his family will have visitation for family and friends on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 5-7 pm. On Tuesday, April 10, 2018 memorial services will be held at Boone Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Harper and Pastor Jeff Harper presiding. Following the memorial, the graveside service will be held at the NWLA Veteran Cemetery with military honors in Keithville at 2 p.m.
His father Druey Edward Youngblood preceded him in death.
Mr. Youngblood is survived by his wife of 45 years, Yon Youngblood and daughter Susan Youngblood Bailey and husband Patrick Bailey of Bossier; son Jason Youngblood and wife Emily of Bossier; grandchildren Joshua and Jordan Bailey and Avery Youngblood; mother Addie Youngblood; sister Joyce Roberts; brother Johnny Youngblood and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews who will miss him greatly.
Mr. Youngblood’s family would like to thank family, friends, Bellaire Baptist Church, Northview Assembly of God, NWLA Veterans Home, Amie Hospice Care, Overton Brooks VA Medical Center, Christus Schumpert Highland Hospital, all his Doctors, Nurses, CNA’s, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists for the care that was given to him.
