Gayle Irene Quartana Barattini, 74, of Bossier City, was called home to Heaven on September 9, 2009 after a brief illness. She was born on April 3, 1935 in New Orleans, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Quartana of New Orleans; mother, Isabelle Reno Quartana of New Orleans; and brother, Roy Quartana of New Orleans. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Gene Barattini, Sr. of Bossier City; her children, Gina Dillenkoffer and husband Denis of Mandeville, LA, Gene Barattini, Jr. and wife Kathryn of Bossier City, Tanya Ulmer and her late husband Steve Ulmer of Atlanta, GA, Tajma Barattini of Bossier City, and Scott Barattini of Portland, OR.; her beloved grandchildren, David Ulmer IV of Atlanta, GA, and Rachel Barattini of Bossier City; and her sister Carol Quartana of Bossier City. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Friday, September 18, 2009 in a private ceremony officiated by Father Charles Glorioso, pastor of Christ the King Church. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Kennedy Lim and Dr. Paul Cole for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ the King Food Pantry at 1000 Ogilvie St., Bossier City, LA 71111.
