Franz “Frank” Joseph Yasko, Sr., a resident of Benton, LA passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the age of 75.

Frank was born on May 23, 1944 in Munich, Germany. He lived in Frankfurt, Germany until the age of 5, when he and his family moved to Joliet, Illinois.  He moved to Louisiana in 1974, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Frank was a cross country truck driver for 30+ years. He was an avid NASCAR and Wrestling fan and he loved watching his LSU Tigers and Saints football. When speaking to him, it was certain NASCAR, wrestling, and/or football was coming up in conversation. Frank also had a love for coin collecting. He spent many years researching and collecting unique coins. 

Frank is survived by his wife of 16 years, Marla “Missy” Carter Yasko; his children, Emily “Emmy” Foat, Wanel Yasko and wife Kristian, Franz L. Yasko and wife Judy, Emilie Cagnolatti and husband Darrin, and Rebekah Latham and fiancé Steve Byrd; his siblings, Jim Yasko and wife Peg, Jeff Yasko and husband Greg, and RoseAnn Smith and wife Krista; 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and their beloved dog, Jazzy. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Yasko, Jr. and Emilie R. Bourguignon; his grandparents, John G. Yasko, Sr. and Mary Yasko; and his son, Franz “Joey” J. Yasko, Jr.

The family of Franz “Frank” J. Yasko, Sr. would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and extended staff at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System - Highland for the quality of care and compassion Frank received during his final days.
