Jeff-It's been a while since I last saw you, but the memories are still fresh in my mind. The world has a different feeling about it, knowing you are gone. You will be remembered, always. You changed so many lives and always made others feel special. I can't think of one memory that doesn't include you making me smile and laugh. Everytime I go back to Kenya there is someone that asks about you....a teacher, student or neighbor. You made a difference, an impression and an example for us all to follow. Rest dear friend.

In an afternoon this past May after my grandson's high school graduation I came to know a man who will remain always a part of my life. I am "Nonna" to Will, Dylan and Blake Crossland, and mom of Amy. I met a person who has put an indelible print on the hearts of the Crossland family, and whose example and courage will always be remembered by his family, friends and students. Jeff will always be a part of their hearts, and to their next generations and beyond. He was the most significant hero I've ever met, and he has "fought the good fight" and "won the race" to sing "Hallelujah" for all of eternity. May the Lord comfort his family and friends with His love and promise of Eternity. Love, Barbara

As I write this from overseas, I'm reminded of when I first became friends with you Jeff. I'd come over to visit my grandparents off and on during the summers, and we would get together to play baseball in your front yard for hours. After high school, I'd lost contact with you, but those memories from all those years ago were great ones. From all the outpouring of affection, you touched many lives Jeff. You were truly a great man, and it was a pleasure to have known you and call you friend. You will be truly missed.

I proudly salute Jeff for his devotion to God and those around him.I was his supervisor during his time at Camp Darby, Italy, and he was one of my hardest workers. I agree, he indeed had a snarky wit, but his humbleness and raw professionalism is what kept our crew going. I sometimes felt guilty that I depended on him maybe too much, but I could I have resisted his strong initiative to get things without being asked? It was also good to see his close friendship with Billy Fondren, as well his hard-to-turn-down comaraderie with others. It was sad to see him leave our unit to return to the states from the loss of his dad after the airline accident. I will never the hand written letter he sent exclusively to me expressing his appreciation for the support during his mourning. I was humbled by it, but believe me, I thought, now there's man that God made him to be.Jeff, once again, I salute you, even now being retired after 25+ years of service, I take this moment now in silence........Give me an "A"! Give an "M"! Give me another "M"! And give me an "O"! What's that spelled?! Ammo!!!.. Hooah! You will be missed!!

Jeff was a dear sweet friend and one I will miss for the rest of my days. He inspired me to be better each day with his positive attitude and drive. I am so thankful for our time together, his friendship, his laugh, his stories, oh how I loved his stories. I am picturing his audience in heaven now and smiling to hear his words coming so easy and his animations so freely. God rest his soul.

We mourn the loss of Jeff, a man of honor and one of the true "nice guys." He fought cancer as he did so many injustices of the world--with a true heart and bravery. He is an inspiration to so many people. His work is not yet done, he's just changed locations as a heavenly angel.

I became friends with Jeff when he was stationed in Italy (I remember touring Europe in his old green Mercedes and Jeff taking pictures of his feet in historic places)and we kept in touch for many years. He was one of the funniest people I've ever known, and a generous, wonderful friend. The world is not as bright without him. My condolences to his family.
