Kenneth Michael 'Mike' Skaggs, 65, of Haughton, LA, passed away April 6, 2013 in Bossier City, LA after suffering from cardiac arrest.
Visitation will be held at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA on April 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm; Pastor Terry McCormick officiating. The burial will follow at Haughton Cemetery in Haughton, LA.
Mike was born in Thornton, AR to Kenneth Skaggs and Bernice Hopkins on September 17, 1947. He was a truck driver for many years prior to health issues. Mike was a man of simplicity who, in his later years, loved to spend time with his Boston Terrier dogs and cook. He was a man that loved flowers. He was a massive support system for his wife Nita as she has pursued her dreams of owning her own flower shop in Minden, LA recently. He will surely be missed by our special Jena and family.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Bernice; sister, Robin Skaggs; and a daughter Stacey Renee Skaggs.
Mike is survived by his wife Juanita Skaggs of Haughton, LA; sisters, Treva Boyett of Thornton, AR, Trisha (Jerry) Carter of Springhill, LA, and Debe Skaggs of Baton Rouge, LA; sons, Kenneth E. (Angel) Skaggs of Silsbee, TX and Rodney Wade Skaggs of Big Wells, TX; daughters, Treva Lynn (Charles) Grubbs of Magnolia, AR, Vickie (Rob) Hugland of PA, Tamela Sue (Michael) Fish of Haughton, LA; stepdaughters, Renee (Jeff) Kuhn of Bossier City, LA, Evelyn Bailey of Elm Grove, LA, Angela (Kent) Jenkins of Ramstein, Germany, Jessica Blade and Jena Blade both of Haughton, LA; 13 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Skaggs, Rodney Skaggs, H. Bob Harrison, Tommy LaCour, James Patrick, Dennis Rushing; alternate pallbearers Jeff Kuhn and Earl 'Bo' Stutts.
