Shreveport, LA ? Graveside services for Max G. Hare will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Graham F. Riggs of First Christian Church in Bossier City. The family will receive friends between 9:00 and 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care, located at 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, LA. Max, 88, passed away August 17, 2009 surrounded by his family. During his life, he worked as an Exploration Geologist in the oil and gas industry. He also proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. Max was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Hare; two sisters and one brother. He leaves behind daughters, Garla Root, and Sandra Durrett and husband Ron; son, Tom Hare and wife Virginia; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; long time companion, Maria Portocarrero; and close friend Norrine Baggett. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Disabled Veterans of Louisiana.
