Obituary of James Gregory Putters
James "Greg" Gregory Putters 55 of Doyline, LA , gained his angel wings on May 26, 2019 after a courageous ten month battle with brain cancer. On March 14, 1964 Greg began his life's journey at the Carswell AFB Hospital, Ft. Worth, TX and for the next sixteen years proudly carried, along with his sister Jenny, the unofficial titles of "Air Force Brats". His journey continued from Texas to Nebraska twice, North Dakota, California and finally Bossier City, LA graduating from Parkway High School in 1982.
Having experienced enough "Air Force" he instead joined the "work force” in distribution warehousing and later began a twenty five year career as a contractor's distribution driver for the US Postal Service, Shreveport. In 2012 he took an additional position as a bus operator with the "SPORTRAN" transit system. He was well known by employers and co-workers alike for his easy going manner, sense of humor and total dedication and reliability! Greg loved hunting, fishing, archery and in recent years golfing with his long time and great supportive friend Steve Dickson!
He is survived by his wife Sabrina; daughters, Lacey, Josie, Amanda; five Grandchildren, Autumn, Aerial, Addison, Bubba and Gregory; His Parents, James and LaDona; devoted sister, Jennifer and brother-in-law, Mick Walsh. He is also survived by several Aunts, Uncles and numerous cousins who fondly referred to him as "Beav.” Greg's family wishes to extend a very special Thank You for all of those who continually kept him in their thoughts and prayers and for all the professionalism, compassion and kindness of his care givers, and surgeons, Dr Jessica Wilden and Dr Manish Singh.
Greg's memroial service will be held at Boone Funeral Home on June 1st at 1pm. Greg will be missed in so many ways that we can't begin to imagine and he will forever remain in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers!
