Obituary of Billy Edwin Ford

CMSGT (ret) Billy Edwin Ford, USAF, was born March 20, 1931 in Trenton, AR, and moved to Shreveport in 1979. He passed away peacefully in Baltimore, MD on December 16, 2017.
Burial will be at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at 12:00.
Billy and Inez were married on November 3, 1948. He entered the Army Air Corps as a Private on November 26, 1946 in Lackland, TX and completed 28 ½ years of Meritorious Service. Retired at Ramstein Air Base, Germany on August 1, 1975. He served 24 months in the Korean War; and 18 months in the Vietnam War, receiving the Bronze Star and Vietnamese Metal of Honor. He went on to fulfill a second career with American National Insurance Co., to retire as District Manager in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Inez Frans Ford; and brothers, Russell Jr., Ruben Lee, James David, and Fred.
Billy is survived by his children Randy, Carol Ann and husband Lee, Donna Sue and husband Robert; his grandchildren Eli, Gwen, Hillary, Jason, Brandon, Brittany, Billy, Christopher, Kelly and Abbye; and great-grandchildren Sarah, Riley, Korryn, Cannon, Stella, Ethan and Christian; and siblings Juanita Craddock, Lanell Clifton, and Joe Ford.
Flowers may be sent to the family at Boone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Shreveport Humane Society or Mangum United Methodist Church.
