Mooringsport, LA ? Funeral services for James A. Moore, will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 12, 2010 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care, 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Evans-Richie Cemetery in Vivian, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Roy W. Davis of North Shreve Baptist Church. The family will receive friends between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2010 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care. James, 90, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2010 following a long struggle with Alzheimer?s disease. He was born January 29, 1920 in Hazelhurst, MS, the son of Prentiss Lee and Hollie (Hilton) Moore. On July 18, 1947 he married Lois Ackley and she preceded him in death on November 17, 1987. Before this dreadful disease took control, James loved to hunt, fish and plant his vegetable garden every year. He was known through out this area as a man of his word who trusted everyone. During his early years he proudly served his country during WWII. He retired from Texaco Inc. Field Production in 1983 after 34 years of service. Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, brothers, Marion Moore, Freddie Moore; sisters, Bonnie Jenkins, Lea Allie Rowell, Cuba Graves and Georgia Friedel. He is survived by sons, Montie L. Moore and wife Brenda, Kokomo, IN, Larry James Moore, Shreveport, LA, Dennis Ray Moore, Mooringsport, LA, and William Moore and wife Brenda, Mooringsport, LA; eight grandchildren, Rene´ Loyd and husband Chris of Shreveport, LA, Kevin D. Moore, Blanchard, LA, Kayla Osbon and husband Darrell, Minden, LA, Crystal Bramel and husband Matt, Greentown, IN, Angela Smith and husband Mike, Mooringsport, LA, Justin Moore and fiancé Trisha Smitley, Greentown, IN, James Eric Moore and wife Cindi, Woodbridge, VA, and Amy Marie Zsimovan and husband Paul, Shreveport, LA; sister, Johnnie Ruth Graves, Hosston LA, and Rebecca Ann Burton, Vivian LA; brothers, Walter Moore Olympia, WA, Malcolm Moore and his wife Joan, Vivian, LA; ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Kevin D. Moore, Justin Moore, Eric Moore, and great-grandsons, Chad Loyd, Chase Loyd, Kiefer Moore.
