Shreveport, LA ? Funeral services for James H. Stogner will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care, 3903 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Gilley of Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 9:00 AM to service time. James was an avid fisherman that loved life, and family. Some of the children?s special times was going fishing with him. Every holiday he enjoyed having his large family around him. James was born July 10, 1923 and went to be with his Lord on July 4, 2010. Waiting for him in Heaven are his parents Bertha Swinney and Sampson D. Stogner; brother, Reuben D. Stogner; nephew, Michael A. Carroll; and niece, Angela M. Green. He is survived by four children, Jerry Stogner and wife Camille, Annette Sheppard and husband Lynn, Billie J. Odom, and Melba Parton and husband Mark; ten grandchildren, Michael Sheppard, Melinda McDaniel, Belinda Arnold, Mark Parton, Jr., Colin Stogner, Monica Dempsey, Savannah Stogner, Jennifer Acklen, Christopher Bailey, and Athoney Odom; three sisters, Christine Albers and husband Paul; Beth Sprouse, and Gracie Green and husband Don, and mother of his children, Aline Stogner.
