Obituary of Donna Rodgers Oliver

Donna was born June 3, 1943 in Plain Dealing, LA and passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 27, 2014. Donna's passion in life was teaching children to read, especially dyslexic children, during her 44 years as an educator.
Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her parents, the late C.A. Rodgers, Jr. and Bobbie Rodgers of Plain Dealing, LA. Donna is survived by her husband of 42 years, John B. Oliver, Jr., their son, Jeff Oliver and wife Jamie and grandchildren Hailey, Hannah and Kaden Oliver of Castle Rock, CO, sisters Melba Williamson of Monroe, LA, Sue Batts and husband Dennis of Bossier City, LA and Debbie Bryant of Plain Dealing, LA and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Boone Funeral Home 2156 Airline Drive in Bossier City. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Boniol, Ms. Kate Young and staff at the Christus Schumpert Cancer Treatment Center, the doctors and staff at Christus Highland, the doctors and staff at the Dubuis Hospital, the doctors and staff at the Grace Home and her many friends for their care, support and kindness.
