Obituary of Robert E. Burns

Robert "Bob" E. Burns, age 65, of Haughton, LA, passed away on 25 Jul 2013. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm 31 Jul 2013 at Belle Park Baptist Church, Hwy 157, Haughton. Rev. Keith Lauter from Omaha, TX will be officiating. Dinner on the grounds will be served at 5:30 pm at the church. Bob was born in Heidelberg, Germany on 18 Feb 1948. He graduated from Somerville High School, MA and continued on to receive an Associate Degree from Georgia Military College. He was a Veteran who served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. He moved on to the car sales business for 20 years. He then taught leadership classes with Leadership Development Network, before starting his own business, Leadership Concepts. Bob dedicated himself as a Youth Minister for Belle Park for 9 years. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, camping, and spending time with his great-grandchildren. He was also actively involved in the Christian Motorcycle Association, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), and the Romanian Ministry. Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years, Wilma Burns; two daughters , Jill and husband, Sonny Davis, Lalena Burns; son, Robert J. Burns; grandchildren, Tiffany Shatto and Joseph E. Boswell; great-grandchildren, Micah Shatto and Jayden Shatto; step-parents, Basil Brigandi and Joan Burns; siblings, CarlHeinz "Joe" and wife, Debby Burns, Anthony and wife,Tracy Brigandi, Peter and wife, Susan Brigandi, Sandy and husband, Kevan Gomske, and Patty and husband, Preston Gannon, Jimmy Burns, Kenny Burns; and other family and friends. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Margrit Brigandi; and his father, Robert C. Burns. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Romanian Ministry via Belle Park Baptist Church, 13061 Hwy 157, Haughton, LA 71037 in memory of Bob Burns. His family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of WK Cancer Center, WK North, and Grace Home.
