"Big Tom"
Rocky Mount- Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas H. "Big Tom" Holmes will be held Monday, April 30, 2007at 2:00pm at Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Prescott and Dr. Mike Walton officiating. Interment will follow at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Rocky Mount. The family will receive friends at Boone Funeral Home Sunday evening from 4pm until 8pm.
Big Tom, 76, passed from this life Friday April 27, 2007 in Bossier City. He served his country in the US Air Force and was an avid outdoorsman having owned and operated an archery shop at one time. He entertained family and friends for hours playing his mandolin.
Big Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Grace Holmes; two brothers, Joe, Jr. and Howard. Surviving him are his adoring wife of 50 years, Frances Holmes; sister, Helen Denton and husband Bill of Mesquite, TX; sister-in-law, Charlene Holmes of Paris, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Barry Denton, Bob Sorensen, Doug Williams, Wesley Clarkston, Ed Foutch, and Reggie Quillen. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Scarborough, Rusty Scarborough, Harold Palmer, and Ray Malmay.
