Martha Lynn Dowden Hicks born September 29, 1933 in Shreveport, LA and died May 27, 2012. Family will receive friends? 2-4 p.m. on Friday June 1, with memorial service at 4 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111. The Reverend Barry Chance, pastor of St Andrew Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Martha was preceded in death by her father and mother, John Alfred and Margaret Paulean Dowden, infant sister Betty Nell Dowden, Brother J.L. Dowden, husband Doody Hicks and son Marty Hicks. She is survived by her brothers Barney Paul Dowden and his wife Marlene Dowden and Jim Dowden. Two daughters, Darleen Hicks Nelson and husband Rodney, Paulette Hicks Brock and husband Easy. Grandchildren, Clint Hicks Allen and wife Amber, Candice Hicks Allen Sweat, Jeffrey Nelson, Denise Nelson Janz and husband Chris, Mary Lou Brock Breedlove and husband Evan, Bill and Marty Brock. Great grandchildren, Westin and Luke Allen, Embry Breedlove and one on the way, Baby Janz. Martha?s family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to her church, St. Andrew Presbyterian Church 3625 North Market, Shreveport, LA 71107.
