Obituary of Betty Kelly

Shreveport-Betty Jo McFerrin Kelly, 79, passed peacefully into Heaven surrounded by her family on January 26, 2016. Funeral services for Betty will be 10:00 AM, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Chad Hardbarger, assisted by Rev. Bob Moore. Interment will be Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Florien, LA at 3:00 PM, January 29, 2016. The family will receive friends between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home-Shreveport. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Marshall, of Shreveport who faithfully cared for her through a lengthy illness. She is also survived by son, DeWayne (Grace) of Bethany, LA; daughters, Colleen Bartel (Richard) Pampa, TX, and Kathy Kelly of Garland, TX; grandchildren, Kevin of Ft. Worth, TX, Josh (Andrea) of Mansfield, TX, and Patrick Garcie of Euless, TX, Rachel Bridges (Steven), Rebekah Bartel of Pampa, TX and Jennifer Peeples Kelly of Bethany, LA; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Alexis, of Ft Worth, TX, Leah , Jason Garcie of Mansfield, TX; sister, Doris Smallenberger of Shreveport; and brother, Charles McFerrin of Covington, LA. She was predeceased by parents, Leonard and Pearl McFerrin; sisters, Adelle Kindle, Mozelle Kindle; brothers, Clayton McFerrin, Marvin McFerrin, Benny McFerrin. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Kelly, Keith Kelly, Sidney Berch, Steven Bridges, Mike Allen, Richard Bartel, Bobby Williams, and Bill McFerrin. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
