Obituary of Lady Ferguson

Bossier City-The ?Lady? of the Ferguson family, Lady Albritton Ferguson went to sleep and woke up to find her mansion complete with Jesus and the many family and friends that had gone before her waiting to welcome her to Paradise. Lady Albritton Ferguson was born in Bude, Mississippi on September 24, 1925 and left this world in a peaceful sleep on November 22, 2011. Lady was the youngest of three children born to Archie and Winnie Albritton. Lady met the love of her life in Brookhaven, Mississippi. They were married on November 14, 1945 in Boston while Billy was stateside serving his country in the Navy during the ?Big One??WWII. Billy preceded her in death in 1993 after 48 years of marriage. The Ferguson?s moved to Bossier City in 1969 from Mobile, Alabama. Lady held several jobs over the years at Barksdale Air Force Base and Bellaire Baptist Church before retiring to care for her family. She moved to Riverview for the remaining years of her life in October of 2007. All three of her children and their spouses along with several of her grandchildren and great grandchildren were blessed to be with her in her last days. Lady is survived by daughter, Alice R. Marlow and husband, Bobby of Bossier City. Sons Jimmy Ferguson and wife Susie of Bay Minette, Alabama, Bill Ferguson and wife Wendi of Destin, Florida. Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Lori Marlow Harper and husband Don and their children, Jill, Rob and Ali all of Bossier City. Eddie Ferguson and wife Marti and their children Joseph, Olivia and Victoria of Bay Minette and April Harrison and husband Clint and their children Mallory and Macy of Bay Minette. Darrell Rider and wife Ashley and children Brooke and Blackley of Bay Minette. Katie Rider and her children Kailyn and Jayden of Woodville,Tx. D.J. Striedel of Lexington, Missouri and Brennan McDaniel of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The family would like to thank Mr. James Collins and wonderful group of nurses and staff, especially those on North Hall of Riverview Nurse Care for the fabulous care they provided over the last several years. We would also like to thank the kind folks of Christus-Schumpert Hospice for their kindness and care over the last year. We would also like to express our love and appreciation to our Bellaire Baptist Church family and the ?Shut-In Ministry? for their love, prayers, visits and support. A special thanks also to Dr. William Bailey who took care of both Billy and Lady for many years. A very special thanks also to the residents of Riverview who became Lady?s friends and extended family over the last few years. Visitation will be held at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City from 6 to 8 p.m. on November 25, 2011. Grandma Lady will be laid to rest by her husband at Hill Crest Cemetery in Haughton immediately following the celebration of her life service which will be held at Bellaire Baptist Church at 10 am on Saturday, November 26, 2011. Officiating will be Dr. Randy Harper of Bellaire Baptist Church and Reverend Jarrett Stevens of Preston Wood Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas. There will be a memorial service at a later date at Riverview Nurse Care in honor of Mrs. Ferguson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Bellaire Baptist Church Prayer Blanket/Shut-In Ministry 4330 Panther Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana 71112 or Grace Home located at 1035 Margaret Place, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
