Bobby Robinson was a true stand-up Public Servant! It was a pure pleasure knowing him, and being around Him while at Fair Park High School. When Bobby was in the area you felt good; his statue, smile, and grin were second to none! He has enriched so many lives during his own. Bobby now has a delightful journey he will take, because all his wonderful tasks on Earth are done . Please consider yourself rich in having Him as a friend and loved one... rather than poor now in having lost Him. Bobby probably wouldn’t want it any other way! Rest in Peace my friend. Leroy Sutton; Class of 67 FPHS

What a wonderful teacher and friend. I learned so much from this man about kindness and patient care. It was my privilege over 20 years later to be able to use my medical knowledge to help him; the man who had helped so many others. He has been one of my favorite mentors and I will miss him greatly. Blessings and peace be with the family and all his friends. He never met a stranger.

I’m so very sorry to hear of Chief Robinson’s passing. He was one of the kindest, funniest, most encouraging, positive, and decent men I’ve ever met. He loved his family more than anything in the world, and I know you’ll all miss him deeply.

I remember meeting Bobby many years ago when he first came on the job at # 17 There was something different about him. I felt that he was going to be a great addition to the SFD. He was a firefighter 24/7. He was a perfect example of what a firefighter should be.
“FIREFIGHTERS ARE A BROTHERHOOD”. Rest In Peace my Brother.

I worked in Fire Alarm, next door to the old Central Station, for many years and I remember Chief Bob would come over to visit every night and especially after a good run he had just made and tell us in detail, as only he could, just what happened. As he told the story, his eyes would get big and his respirations would increase as he relived it again. We affectionately called them,"Bobbys Bedtime Stories" He was my friend and I know I will see him again. Heaven just got a lot louder. Prayers for the family.

I have Great Admiration and respect for Chief Bob. Chief Bob was a great story teller and I have a great memory to share. One day while riding district we came upon SPD with an abandoned car that matched the description of one Chief Bob had been told about. We looked at each other and then (at that time) Capt Bob said "Pull Over". Capt Bob asked the officer if this was the stolen car and she said she had been told about the pranks that fireman liked to play and she told Capt Bob she was not falling victim to a prank. Finally she called it in and it was the stolen car. We got back in the truck. I got a big smile and high five from Capt Bob and he said "Starskey and Hutch solved another one" I was never sure who was Starskey or Hutch. Thanks for all the wonderful memories!! A beautiful obituary for a beautiful man. What a wonderful world it would be if we had more people like Bobby Robinson. As he was held in the arms of God I can imagine him saying" Father can you put me down there are some people I need to talk to."

I worked many calls with Bob, he on the SFD, and me on the SPD. He also did my chimneys on several houses. He was, indeed, a great man, and will be missed. My condolences to the family, but his suffering is over, and he is in a better place.

What a great man...Bobby was a great friend and mentor to me growing up. He always had a kind word, smile and encouraged me to be the best at whatever I did. I loved cooking and visiting him at the Fire Department. He will be greatly missed by all.
