Shreveport, LA ? Funeral services for Gladys Lee Beatty will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 31, 2009 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care, 3909 Meriwether Road, Shreveport. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp of Brookwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Monday, August 31, 2009 between 9:00 AM and service time. Gladys went to Heaven on August 27, 2009 after a lengthy illness. During her life she was known for her joyful nature. Always making people around her smile and enjoy visiting with her. She loved to work with flowers in her garden and watching the birds. She used her creativity to complete many arts and crafts projects. Gladys was preceded in death by husband, James Beatty; son, Eric Beatty; brother, Jimmie Lewis Lawhon; and grand niece Lauren Aldrich. She is survived by son, Chris Beatty, sisters, JoAnn Jones and Debra McCoy; brothers Joe Aldrich, Sr., Jay Aldrich and Gerald Aldrich, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Mattie Tridico for her friendship with Gladys. Mattie brought youthful joy to Glady?s life. She loved you so much, Mattie. Thanks also to the staff at Willis Knighton South, Lifecare Linwood and The Bradford for their loving care.
