Obituary of Herman Cannon

Shreveport, LA- A memorial service for Lt. Col. Herman F. Cannon will be held at Live Oak Retirement Center Chapel on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 9:30 AM. Officiating the service will be Father Douglas Sweet. Mr. Cannon passed away on March 20, 2005, after a lengthy illness.
He was born on March 18, 1915, in DeRidder, LA. Lt. Col. Cannon served our country in the U.S. Army over 20 years and fought in the Battle of the Bulge under General Patton. He then went to work for KCS railroad, and retired with them after 40 years of service. Mr. Cannon was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Sexon Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Cannon four years ago. Surviving him are his children: Ronald F. Cannon and his wife Vicki; Linda Cannon McCurnin and her husband Tom; grandchildren: Sara Cannon, Emily Cannon Jones and her husband Jeremy; great grandchildren: Melissa Jones, Joshua Jones, and Shane Cayton.
The family would like to thank the staff of Live Oak Retirement Center for their dedication and loving help over the past years.
