Obituary of Marion G. "Sonny" Spiers, Jr.
Marion G. “Sonny” Spiers, Jr., 86, of Bossier City, passed away on March 14, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Memorial Service will be held at Boone Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2 pm with Reverend Harrell Shelton of Airline Baptist Church officiating.
Sonny was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Marion G. Spiers, Sr., and Clara Mae Spiers on March 16, 1932. Sonny graduated high school in Columbia and went on to join the Air Force Military Service. He served in the Air Force for 24 years and retired as a Master Sargent. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and farming. Sonny supported just about every charity and organization possible, but truly believed in helping the local food banks and church.
Sonny is preceded in death by both his parents and all of his siblings: three sisters Helen, Peggy and Pat and two brothers Herman and T.F. He was also preceded by his first wife of 52 years, Edith Betty Spiers, and his second wife of 9 years, Evelyn Pearl Spiers.
Sonny is survived by his three sons - Gary James Spiers, Jerry Wayne Spiers (Carol) and Ricky Carl Spiers; and his daughter Lindy Carol Spiers. He is also survived by his two stepsons - Ray Williams and Mike Williams; and step-daughters - Sara Walker and Cathy Donaldson. Sonny has many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren who have survived him.

Sonny has lived a full, eventful life, and he has left a growing legacy of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for the future.
