Obituary of Jack R. Ragsdale

Jack R. Ragsdale, Sr. was born in Wheatly, Arkansas on May 13, 1941 to Hubert Ragsdale and Leona Jackson Ragsdale. He left this life to be with his Lord and Savior on November 22, 2015 from a lengthy illness.
Jack was predeceased by his natural and paternal grandparents and his mother and father.
Jack is leaving his best friend and wife, Lorraine S. Ragsdale. Also left to cherish his memory are his children Jack R. Ragsdale, Jr. and wife Bobby, Deloris Darlene Sullivan, Frederick R. Ragsdale and wife Kim; step daughter Joy E. Gibson and husband Mike; 4 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and 2 great grandchildren.
Jack was retired from the USAF in 1981, he settled in Benton, LA. He was a true "Jack" of many trades, loved to work on farm equipment, owned his own business from 1994 to 2006 when he had to down size due to health issues. Jack was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Benton. Jack was the Benton Christmas Festival Santa for 15 years. Jack's passion was children, especially those who were without grandparents. All the kids were his "Angels". Jack served on the Benton Volunteer Fire Dept. until it became Benton Fire District 4.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the children's fund at Fellowship Baptist Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church. Thanks go out to the Amedisys Home Health Group and Garden Court Nursing Home who helped and showed a lot of love and concern for Jack.
