Obituary of Nova Gene Yates

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Memorial service will be held for Nova Gene Yates, 69, at Boone Funeral Home on Saturday 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Bossier City. Officiating will be Rev. Keith Adcock. Gene was born on April 22, 1946 and passed away December 08, 2015. Gene was born in Batesville, AR to George & Rachel Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-son; Larry Yates. Gene is survived by her husband and soul mate of twenty-seven years; Robert D. "Bob" Yates, children; son, Douglas Nolan and wife Milaine, daughter's; Kathryn Little and husband Robert, Janette Molloy and husband Sean, step-daughter; Janice Zirkle and husband Duke, grandchildren; Ashlie Lindsey, Lori Dunham, Sarah Molloy, Abigail Molloy, Christina Molloy, Douglas Junior (DJ) Nolan, sister; Modine Melton and husband Delbert, numerous nephew's, niece's and loving pet, Bobcat. Gene retired from Pilgrim Manor Guest Care Center after 21 years and returned part-time for 6 years. She loved and cared for residents as if they were family. She was a member of the VFW post 5951 - Ladies Auxiliary, originated the "Red Hat Hussies" and was the Queen Mother. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with grandchildren, family, and friends. Gene never knew a stranger and will be missed by all that knew her. Memorials may be made in her name to The Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Pkwy, Bossier City, LA. 71112.
