Shreveport-Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie M. Speights Hughes will be held Monday, February 5, 2007 at 1:00pm at Boone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Al Eden officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00am on Monday.
Mrs. Hughes passed away Friday, February 2, in Bossier City. She was a practicing beautician for 35 years and a graduate of Guy's Beauty School.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Guy M. Hughes and her parents, Ruth Elvie McLemore Speights and Mermod Leon Speights. She leaves her children, Sharon "Guyann" and husband Wilber Gayle Keene, and Mark Mermod and wife Cindy Ferran Hughes; grandchildren, Robin Keene Williamson and husband Chuck, Brady Keene and wife Stacy, Benjamin Mark Hughes, William Maxwell Hughes, and Andrew Phillip Hughes; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Dorine Robinson, and Ruby Laverne Gellatly and daughter Dorine Gordy and husband Craig; numerous Hughes brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews; and many loving pets to cherish her memory.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Cornerstone Hospital.
