Services for Donald Wayne "Don" Smith, 58, will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Randy Harper, pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA. Don was born July 22, 1955 in Minden, LA to E.W. and LaVerne Smith and passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Shreveport. He was fondly referred to as "Snooper" by all his family and friends who will forever love him. He was preceded in death by his father, E.W. Smith. Don is survived by his only son, Brett and wife Christy and grandson, Todd James Smith of Corpus Christi, TX; mother, LaVerne Smith; brothers: David & Carolyn Smith, Tommy & Janet Smith, Paul & Pauline Smith, Travis & Sharon Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Michael Smith, Warren Johnson, Gary Welch, Ron Pyles, Johnny Bennett, Eddie Orendorff, and Jon David Smith. Don was an All State catcher for Bossier High School in 1972 and 1973. In 1972 he earned All State honors as a linebacker for Bossier High. He had a strong sense of fairness and fair play whether in sports or life.
