The Good Lord has called our Son, Brother, Father, Friend home before we were ready.
I dare say that other than family, I might have known Eddie the longest. Fifty years ago Eddie and his family moved into the neighborhood where we lived for many years, and those of us whose lives he touched are the better for it. No matter where either of us was in the world, we were always at a minimum just a phone call away,
Eddie and I had so much in common. Our birthdays were very close, but I can claim I was the oldest by just a few days. We were both interested in and loved playing sports. We were both very voracious readers to the point we would share books with each other. We both loved to fish and hunt. We both shared a love of Classic Rock. And we both had two daughters.
My wife and I moved back to Shreveport in 2011 after having been away for close to fifteen years and Eddie and I picked up right where we left off. We would attend high school football games together watching some of the great talent that was coming up. Once a week he would stop by and have lunch with my wife and I. He knew he was always welcome in our home.
My wife Gina and I are saddened with his passing but we know in our hearts that he is now with his father and our Holy Father in Heaven. I know that I will see Eddie again when the Good Lord calls me home. Until that time you will always be remembered as my Brother my Friend.
