Obituary of Jack Montalbano

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jack Montalbano was born on March 29, 1947 and passed on June 5, 2021. Growing up in Bossier City, LA. Jack started working with Western Electric in 1972 in Shreveport. After spending 11 years in Columbus, Ohio, he retired at the age of 54 from Lucent Technology in March 2002. He and his wife came back to Bossier City. He had many hobbies: watching western movies, growing melons in our back yard, crawfishing, fishing, sitting by the fire with his cats, riding my grandchildren and children in the neighborhood on his 1977 Hondamatic 750, and raising and caring for his chickens. He loved it when his brother, Ronnie would come over to just to talk and their conversation always ended with “I love you”. It was a pleasure to Jack and Linda to take Ronnie to dinner most every day and to see him happy. Jack is preceded in death by his father, Vince Montalbano; mom, Dorothy Montalbano; brother-in-law, Jimmy Moon; and grandparents, aunts and uncles. Jack is survived by the love of his life and wife Linda Marie Montalbano, whom he married in 1989; children, Leon Moon, Leann Reaux and husband Larry; cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Levi, Tisha, Amber, Kelly, and Dawn; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie Montalbano, Bobby Montalbano and wife Valerie; sisters, Sherry Cobbs and husband Charlie, and Jean Manceaux and husband Darrell; sisters-in-law, Becky Hyde, and Helen Jolly; brother-in-law, LeRoy Moon and wife Ella; many friends that feel like family at Grace Tabernacle Church; two estranged children, Uncle Tony, Aunt Rosemary Finely, Aunt Joan Montalbano; and many nieces and nephews, and friends. Jack was a loyal friend to all that knew him. He has given the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet. The most giving man with a compassionate heart. He enjoyed buying food for families and would help when and whomever he could. His life was a blessing. His memory will be a treasure. He was loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
