Michael Joseph Tuminello, Sr., “Tumi,” passed away June 13, 2021. He was born in Shreveport, LA, on November 11, 1950. He is preceded in death by parents John D. Tuminello, Sr. and Margaret M. Tuminello; and his brother John D. Tuminello, Jr. of Shreveport, LA. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; daughter Michelle Tuminello; sons Michael Tuminello, Jr., and Ryan Senkel; and sister, Jo Marie Tuminello. Mike met the love of his life, Georgia, during his high school years. He was a drummer with the “Kayots” during high school and enjoyed his retirement years reconnecting with high school buddies and reminiscing about the good ole’ days. Mike retired from the retail industry after spending his career ensuring the family business, Tuminello’s Grocery, was a success. He later worked as a General Manager at K&B Drugs, Rite Aid, CVS, and Fry’s where he met many wonderful people with whom he remained friends. He was a lifetime supporter of animal welfare. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 19, 2021, at the Cathedral of Saint John Berchmans, Shreveport, LA at 10 a.m. Graveside service will directly follow at Forest Park Cemetery – East, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue. In leu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Mike will be forever loved and missed by his family, friends, and work associates.
