Obituary of James F. Holland, Jr.

James Fredrick Holland, Jr., 69, was born on July 30, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana. On June 16, 2021, Buddy went to his forever home, following a lengthy illness. A Celebration of Life service will be 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Boone Funeral Home. The family will receive friends starting at 6:00 PM till service time. Buddy graduated from Bossier High School and attended Northwestern State University. After college, he continued his education in Dallas studying to be a computer technician. For his entire career he worked on computers. In his free time, Buddy enjoyed working on cars, riding his motorcycles, and listening to blues music. Another passion of Buddy’s was traveling with his companion, Gail Fanning. Preceded in death by parents, Eunie Conly Holland and James F. Holland, Sr. Left to cherish many memories is sister, Donna McFarland and husband Keith; nephew, Ryan McFarland and wife Melanie Diamond; cousins, Gene and Cindy Couvillion, Judy Gilleland, Bubba and Maggie Conly; long-time companion, Gail Fanning; long-time friends, Ralph Walters and Elizabeth Marshall and Alvin Curry; and many family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to American Diabetes Association in Buddy's memory. Buddy enjoyed life on his terms and loved deeply. His legacy will carry on through memories he left with family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
